Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Ingrid and her family welcomed us very kindly. We are very grateful for their attention and warmth. The house is cozy, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped: washing machine, dishwasher, Nespresso-style capsule coffee machine, oven and stove that work perfectly, a fridge in excellent condition, and all the necessary cookware and tableware. The shower is excellent, with super-hot water, and the heating is fully adjustable by room, keeping everything warm and comfortable. The lighting is warm and dimmable. You see a simple photo takes from the back garden Access was completely straightforward: very easy to arrive and get in. The location is peaceful and the mountain views are beautiful. There are lovely tree-lined walking paths in the neighborhood, and the neighbors are very quiet (they have dogs and you don’t hear them—they don’t bark). There’s also a supermarket very close by for any shopping—just 2–3 minutes away. As for the Northern Lights, we could see them from the back garden (even from the bedroom windows). We later moved to a darker spot, but you could already see them from the house. In short, everything works and you can feel the care in every detail. An excellent stay: we would return without hesitation and recommend 100%. From us, many thanks to Ingrid and her family for the warm welcome; we’re very happy we chose to stay here.
Negative: Everything about the house and the hosts was great! ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS ABOUT THE CITY’S PARKING SYSTEM AND IS NOT RELATED TO THE HOUSE. For travelers to Tromsø: the city’s parking system can be confusing (even for locals). Despite translating the signs, we received a €66 fine. Key points: 1. Parking is paid 24/7. Some websites say it’s free after 17:00 — it is NOT. 2. “Disabled” signage indicates that drivers with disabilities must also pay if they park there; it does not mean the area is exclusively for disabled parking. 3. Prefer areas with a blue sign and a white “P”; if you pay there, you’re usually fine. 4. Paying at the machines by card is straightforward: insert your card, select the amount/time (you’ll see the expiry time), and place the printed ticket visibly on the dashboard/windscreen. 5. Beware,: some places marked “Parking” are for special permits only (especially near piers/harbors). 6. If you get a fine (yellow ticket), you can pay by bank transfer, or the rental company can pay it for you (they’ll add about €35).
